Zita Gurmai holds the position of President of PES Women, which promotes gender equality inside and outside the Party of European Socialists. She was MEP from 2004-2014, is the current Vice-President of FEPS and re-elected as Member of the Hungarian Parliament since April 2018. In the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe she is the coordinator of the Parliamentary Network Women Free from Violence and the general rapporteur on violence against women of the SOC group. She is Vice-President of her party MSZP and the chair of its women’s organization.
